Don't Stand In The Fire

Threat

I was just in a heroic with a druid tank that had a gear ilvl of 329. He was wearing mostly quest greens and blues. “First time in an heroic, please be patient,” he announces.

My mage is ilvl 356, gemmed, enchanted, reforged, chemically enhanced and I know how to play her. I sighed and got ready for a long dungeon of throttling my dps.

The first few pulls went well, so well that I decided to see what the limit was before I ripped all the aggro and became a mage puddle on the floor.

I couldn’t pull aggro off the tank. As long as he touched a mob first, there seemed to be no threat loss. I watched Omen for the rest of the dungeon and while it might be broken from the changes, I didn’t get over 45% the entire time.

So I guess if you were looking to tank, now would be the time to learn. Overgeared dps won’t rip mobs off of you in heroics.
